A series of forms of Ariocarpus retusus, designated A - F, are distributed by Mesa Garden. These plants originate from a mixed batch of A. retusus acquired many years ago by Steven Brack. The plants had no habitat data, but were sorted by Steven according to body morphology, and assigned letters as a means of identification. Plants of all six of these distinctive forms are illustrated below.

A. retusus form 'A', long narrow tubercles, areole at tip.

A. retusus form 'B', fat rounded rough tubercles, large areole.

A. retusus form 'C', triangular wide flat tubercles.

A. retusus form 'E', 'furfuraceus', small tubercles, long tip.
